Jewish Community Center – Heritage Center

The mission of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City is to enrich our diverse community by cultivating an inclusive environment built upon Jewish values, heritage, and culture. We offer programs of excellence that enhance wellness, meaning, and joy from generation to generation. The Heritage Center offers affordable programming in a welcoming, Jewish-centered environment. As the only senior center in the Kansas City metro with a focus on service Jewish older adults, the Heritage Center is uniquely positioned to provide support. Programs include transportation, Jewish education, kosher meals, exercise, social events, fine arts instruction and special interest programs.

Hillel – University of Kansas

Engaging Student Leaders has grown to be a central component of the work of KU Hillel. Each year large cohorts of students find engagement in Jewish life on campus through leadership internships, roles, training, mentoring and responsibilities. By creating these supervised leadership opportunities, Hillel plants the seeds for future Jewish leaders and engages a “sales force” of advocates who can engage their peers in KU Hillel.

Double Up Food Bucks – Kansas City

This program was founded in 2010 through the Menorah Legacy Foundation in partnership with Cultivate Kansas City. The program allows people who are receiving government food assistance to spend some of that money on fresh produce at farmers markets. This is possible through a financial match from a local nonprofit that doubles their spending power.
